The MTW series replaces the former “phenolic” wheels and is manufactured using a special Ditherm® compound, reinforced with fibers and molded through an innovative DC-developed process combining high pressure and extreme temperatures. This advanced production method ensures top-quality performance within its application range.
These wheels are available with different hub and bearing configurations, allowing optimal performance and the best balance between functionality and cost for both high- and low-temperature environments.
The MTW wheels can be paired with a dedicated range of brackets designed specifically for extreme temperature applications, particularly in the bakery and food industries. These brackets are engineered to meet a wide variety of operating conditions.
All brackets are fully certified and produced in food-grade stainless steel (AISI 304 or AISI 316), with options available in both metric and inch standards. Double-layer galvanized pressed steel versions are also available.
The wheels comply with RoHS and REACH regulations, and their permanent lubrication is FDA-USDA approved for food contact.
A computerized control system ensures precise assembly tolerances and smooth swivel head rotation without locking points. The integrated brake system is maintenance-free and performs reliably across both low and high temperatures, suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
Ditherm MTW wheels are designed to operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +300°C. They offer strong resistance to water, oils, most solvents, acids, and chemicals, along with excellent fire, smoke, and toxicity characteristics. They are fully certified for use in bakery and food-processing environments, including oven applications reaching peak temperatures of +300°C.
These wheels also perform efficiently in freezer conditions down to -40°C and are highly resistant to thermal shock. The Ditherm® material allows them to withstand rapid temperature changes of up to 340°C within less than 60 seconds, whether transitioning from hot to cold or vice versa.
While the wheels are non-marking under normal rolling conditions, they may leave traces if used on abrasive surfaces. Additionally, surface chipping or cracking may occur when used on very uneven floors or when subjected to heavy impacts against sharp obstacles. In such cases, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for a more suitable solution.
Important note: Since May 2011, the term “phenolic” has been discontinued in compliance with updated regulations. Although it is still commonly used in the market to describe similar products, it is no longer applicable to this type of wheel. The correct designation for these products is now Ditherm MTW.
